Cooking Tips
Ingredients:
Turkey giblets (heart, neck and liver)
1 cup turkey or chicken broth
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Add root veg for extra flavour.
Instructions:
Sauté and Simmer:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the giblets to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes until they are browned.
Sprinkle the flour over the giblets and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
Gradually pour in the turkey or chicken broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.
Season and Serve:
Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
Strain the gravy through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any solid bits.
Pour the hot gravy into a small serving vessel and serve with your turkey or other dishes.
