Shopping list
For the chicken wings:
- 24 chicken wings
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 tbsp English mustard
- 1 tsp paprika
- 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp celery salt
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 garlic cloves
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 4 tsp hot sauce
For the BBQ sauce:
- 50ml Coca-Cola
- 500ml tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 2 tsp coffee granules
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
Place the chicken wings in a large mixing bowl and then add all the ingredients for the chicken wings, mixing together until the chicken is well coated. Transfer to the fridge to marinate overnight.
Add the Coca-Cola, tomato ketchup, hot sauce and coffee granules to a saucepan and cook over a low heat for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Preheat the oven to 200°C and then bake the chicken wings for 40-45 minutes until crispy, brushing the wings at regular intervals with the BBQ sauce. Serve with your choice of sides.
