Super easy heart warming dish
All the fundamentals of the perfect midweek dish - Quick, Easy, Heart-warming.
Simple ingredients and not much washing up!
Shopping list
- 500g minced beef
- 4 rashers of streaky bacon
- 400g pasta
- Lots of grated cheese
- 12 cherry tomatoes
- 8 white button mushrooms
- 3 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
- 1 chilli
- 1 carrot
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tbsp mixed herbs
- 1 white onion
Method
Cut bacon into small lardons
Dice carrot (Small chunks)
Finely dice onion
Slice mushrooms
Cut tomatoes in half
Finely dice Chilli
Finely dice garlic
Boil a pan of water
Fry bacon in separate pan
Add onions and carrots to bacon
Add pasta to salty boiling water
Add mince to the bacon, carrots and onion
Fry off until dry (medium heat)
Stir pasta (simmer water not boiling)
Add chilli and garlic to meat (cook for 3/4 minutes)
Take pasta off. Drain in cullender (Taste test for texture. You don't want it to soft)
Add tomato puree, mixed herbs, tinned tomatoes
Add mushrooms and tomatoes to finish sauce
Mix together sauce and pasta
Pour into oven dish
Sprinkle with however much cheese you want
Bake in pre heated oven for 20 minutes at 180c
